Much earlier on Siong Kiat kindly sneaked me a copy of this wonderful new book.  On the cover, a beautiful tree snail found in our forests and named after Singapore: Amphidromus atricallosus temasek (more about it here). There's more to land snails than the pesky Giant african snail!
Although the title says 'non-marine', there are some familiar mangrove snails in the book! Like these large lovely Ellobium snails!
And here's some mangrove snails that I haven't noticed before! I'm inspired to pay closer attention to the mud now!
Besides snails with shells, the guidebook also features our fascinating slugs! As well as freshwater bivalves.
There are also lots of cool photos and facts about land molluscs. What they eat, how they live, how they reproduce and more. I didn't know snails are attracted to beer! And that some land snails hop!
So come for the launch or just get this fabulous new guidebook!
